Head of Technical Sales 

An exciting and career-defining opportunity to join a specialist manufacturer in an R&D setting offering bespoke designs for industrial applications. 
In this dynamic role, you will be on the front lines applying your technical knowledge and industry expertise to explain how our client's products and services can effectively meet their business goals. You will work at the intersection of Sales, Engineering and Product teams to design custom solutions and lead client on-boarding. 

This is a senior role, strategic and crucial to the further development and progression of the business and the ideal candidate will have a successful track record in international B2B sales. 

You will be responsible for the management of international sales channels, devising and managing the full sales function; defining goals, objectives and sales targets, setting clear team objectives, producing a full annual sales plan and budget and providing detailed sales forecasts and sales budgets. 
 
Qualifications/Skills/Experience 

  • Preferred MBA and/or Engineering degree or related technical discipline 
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing/R&D environment in a technical sales position where you have been responsible for leading a sales team, developing and executing international sales plan & strategy and navigating complex sales cycles 
  •  7+ years' experience selling technical products in B2B markets 
  • Experience with International Distributor Management gleaned from a manufacturing setting  
  • Solid technical aptitude with strong data analysis skills 
  • Problem solving attitude, with the ability to articulate complex topics to a novice or non-technical audience, as well as translate technical advantages into business benefits 
  • Results-oriented, highly productive, self-starter who is able to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Must be happy to travel, 50% minimum travel expected
